Tour Overview
Santiago, Chile's capital, is one of the most developed cities in South America, with a modern urban environment that combines classical and modern architecture. It's a lively city with a rich artistic culture, modern restaurants, and a thriving nightlife. Santiago is surrounded by mountains, including the massive Andes to the east and the smallest coastal chain to the west.
The tour begins on the city's main avenue. You will walk down to the cobblestoned neighborhood of Lastarra, which is known for its green spaces and beautiful 19th-century houses that have been restored and are now primarily used as coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, and museums. The tour continues to Santa Lucia Hill, where you will have time to walk and take photos while the guide explains some of Santiago's most important episodes.
Admire the city's landmarks, such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the old National Congress. Then you'll arrive at the imposing government building known as La Moneda, which is located next to Plaza de la Constitución. Once in the vehicle, the tour will continue with a stroll through Santiago's Central Market, one of the city's most iconic gastronomic destinations.
You will stop along the way at a lapis lazuli store to admire beautiful jewelry and one-of-a-kind crafts.
