Tour Overview
When you think of Cuba, you probably think of cigars and rum. And this tour will offer you an overview of both commodities as well as how they've been knitted into the fabric of Cuban national identity. The day is completed with a sightseeing tour of Cardenas.
You'll start with a tour of the Arrechabala Rum Factory, where you'll learn about the centuries-old process of making Cuba's national drink. Take a tour of the ageing cellars and see the technology and equipment involved in its manufacture. There will be some sampling as well.
Then it's on to Cardenas, a city known for its distinctive contemporary public art, through a journey through the sugarcane fields. Before stopping for lunch in a private apartment, take a scenic tour of the colonial-era old town. You'll visit a well-known cigar shop in Varadero in the afternoon, followed by a rum and cigar pairing session with a connoisseur. It doesn't get much more Cuban than this.
