Tour Overview
With the help of a knowledgeable guide, learn about Budapest's Jewish history.
Explore one of Pest's most popular places. For almost 200 years, Jewish culture has flourished in the 7th district, which now houses Eastern Europe's largest and most active Jewish population. Visit the Dohány Street Synagogue, which is the largest in Europe and the second largest in the world, as a highlight of the journey.
During the tour, you will learn about the home of Eastern Europe's largest Jewish community, as well as the three most important synagogues, which can be seen from the exterior. We cover 2000 years of Jewish history with a concentration on the last 150 years, covering the ""golden age"" of the turn of the century, the interwar period with a special emphasis on WWII events, and the renaissance of Jewish life beginning in the 1990s.
We present you to the gentrifying inner 7th area, its living standards, situations, challenges, and street art, in addition to Jewish culture and history.
During the tour, we will stop at a ruin bar and welcome you to join us for a drink.
