Full-Day Konya Mevlana Tour From Istanbul by Plane
Konya and Mevlana Day Tour from Istanbul is available every day and it is a great opportunity to explore the Islamic and historical sites in Konya which is one of the most important cities in Islamic history.
Pick up from the hotel in the morning and transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Konya. On arrival, our staff will meet you and drive to the city center.
The tour starts with a visit to Mevlana Museum that is located in the Konya city center. Today, it is the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, a Sufi mystic also known as Mevlâna or Rumi.
Then we moved to Selimiye Mosque is located next door to Mevlana Museum. The mosque was commissioned by and named for, Sultan Selim II (1566-74) in the Ottoman style.
Enjoy a traditional delicious lunch at an authentic restaurant.
After lunch, Konya Tour continues with the Panoramic Meram Tour and a visit to Tavusbaba Tomb that belongs to Seyh Tavus Mehmet El Hindi, a Seljuk Period holy man (Sufi saint) near the Meram area.
After that, we drive to Karatay Madrasah which was usually founded and maintained by the sultan, princes and other nobles as well as the Wakf, who could afford to meet the expenses needed for free education to students.
The final places we cover in the Konya tour are Ince Minaret Madrasah which dates from the 13th century. Originally a madrasa, an Islamic school, it is now a museum of wood and stone carving. And Alaaddin Mosque which was built up at the hill is still surviving intact with its impressive beauty.
After the tour, transfer back to Konya Airport for the evening flight to Istanbul. On arrival, meet our staff and drop you off at your hotel.
